Dazzling Dissolving: Kaitlin

Dazzling Dissolving painting by artist Jamie Berry

She kept sea shells in the back of her car
speeding made them sound like rain
she drove in circles
spun us smaller

There is more

Frozen picture
softness inside me
endeared you to me

There is more

Postcard-perfect moment
true to life
we think it'd last forever
but we're not really safe

We're not really safe

We're terrified of what's outside
and it's there
always

The image is a visual trip, goading you in one direction before turning your head in the other. I love the limited palette and colour choice; those eyes, surreal and incisive.

Thanks very much, Missy. I appreciate the comment about the palette, too - that was a very conscious choice, and I'm pleased that you picked up on it. A lot of technical considerations were involved with this one, and I feel proud of the result. :)
