dazzling dissolving: kaitlin

This is part of a series of paintings (now in private collections) about people that I met over the course of a few years when I was younger. I was trying to encapsulate each person’s qualities using metaphorical imagery, they aren’t literal depictions. Kaitlin (not her real name!) may have looked like a mermaid, but she was swimming with the most ferocious of sharks.
