I spent an entire summer working on figure and head studies, and this is a mish-mash of what those months yielded. I was living in relative isolation then, and I had all the time and space I needed to really dig into it and understand things from new points of view. I used watercolors, acrylics, and regular old pencils. I know some people labor over their sketchbooks like works of art, but for me, as my brother once said to me, ‘It’s your sketchbook, not your finished drawing book!’.
