sweating pollen

I used to joke that with the way butterflies are drawn to me, I must be sweating pollen out of my pores. There’s no trickery in this photo, this butterfly really did just land on my hand and pose for me (those are my fingers it’s standing on). It’s great to see them up close and in this kind of detail, they are such interesting little creatures, and such an important part of what keeps nature going.
